Kalterer See lake

Kalterer See lake is an Eldorado for active people: Not only for swimmers, the lake is also a haven for windsurfers and sailors, especially in the afternoon. It is populated with pedal boats, rowing boars and fishermen. There is a walking path for a circular walk or bike ride around Kalterer See lake. A climb to Castelchiaro is also well worth the effort. In winter, ice skaters practice their turns.

At the southern shore of Kalterer See lake starts the largest surviving wetland between the Po valley and the main ridge of the Alps. The nature reserve “Natura 2002” is also the junction of the main flight paths of migrating birds. Bird watchers can see over 100 different types of birds here. The nature discovery trail takes visitors into a part of the biotope. A look-out tower offers a good viewing platform.
