Winter hikes and snowshoe hikes

The Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage are calling! Come and enjoy your personal winter experience, whether on foot, with skis or snowshoes. No particular skills are required to enjoy a snowshoe hike. Just put on your snowshoes and start walking — fun in the snow is guaranteed!

Even away from the Dolomites and the major winter sports areas, there are plenty of opportunities to walk through snow-covered forests and meadows. The high plateaus of the Ritten and the Salten, as well as the alpine pastures around Aldein and Deutschnofen, invite visitors to enjoy relaxed winter hikes.

Tobboganing runs in the surroundings

Tobogganing is fun and entertainment for the whole family or group of friends. An enjoyable tobogganing session is always one of the highlights of any holiday. In South Tyrol tobogganing is a national pastime. All holiday regions offer well prepared toboggan runs for demanding riders and those who just want to have fun. Tobogganing by by moonlight and on dark nights on floodlit runs is also always popular.

Reinswalder Wiesn toboggan run
The 4.5 km toboggan run in the ski area Reinswald in the Sarntal Valley begins at the mountain station of the cable car near the Pichlberg Alm at 2,130 m. It winds its way past the Sunnolm mountain hut, offering a varied and scenic descent all the way to the valley station. An ideal route for both families and sporty tobogganers.

Rittner Horn toboggan run
The 3.7 km toboggan run in the ski area Rittner Horn starts at the mid-station of the Rittner Horn cable car and leads down to the valley station in Pemmern/Tre Vie. Along the way, tobogganers can enjoy impressive views of the Sciliar massif and the Dolomites. Weekly taster courses on the practice course provide extra fun and variety.

Obereggen toboggan run
The two toboggan runs in the ski area Obereggen offer long-lasting sledding fun over 2.5 km or fast descents over 750 m, and can be reached via the footpath, the “Ochsenweide” cable car, or the “Laner” combination lift. A completely different experience awaits during night sledding under floodlights.
